Exploring rhetoric, literature, communication, digital pedagogy, and cultural discourse through interdisciplinary scholarship.

My research examines the relationship between language, storytelling, communication, education, and representation within both academic and public spaces. Drawing from literary studies, rhetoric, higher education, and digital communication, my work focuses on how narratives, institutional systems, and evolving technologies shape engagement, identity, persuasion, and cultural understanding across contemporary society.

As a Ph.D. researcher in English, my scholarship often operates at the intersection of literature, pedagogy, rhetoric, media, and communication studies. I am interested in the ways educational structures, literary traditions, and digital environments influence whose voices are amplified, how knowledge is communicated, and how individuals engage with information within increasingly technology-driven spaces.

Current Research Interests

  • Literary Canonization & Representation

    My research explores the historical predominance of traditional Western literary canons within higher education and the marginalization of diverse voices in academic literary spaces. This work examines how canon formation influences cultural understanding, curriculum design, student engagement, and perceptions of literary value within educational institutions.

  • Rhetoric & Persuasive Communication

    I am interested in the role rhetoric plays in shaping public discourse, educational communication, digital engagement, and social influence. This research includes persuasive writing, public speaking, audience awareness, communication theory, and the ethical implications of rhetorical strategies within contemporary media environments.

  • Digital Pedagogy & Online Learning

    My scholarship also examines engagement, communication, and instructional practices within online higher education. This includes research surrounding faculty mental models, student participation, digital communication, accessibility, and the integration of emerging technologies, including artificial intelligence, into educational spaces.

  • Storytelling, Media, & Cultural Influence

    Through literary and cultural analysis, my work explores how storytelling influences identity, social perception, morality, communication, and collective understanding. Particular interest is placed on crime fiction, thriller narratives, social commentary, and the ways narrative structures reflect broader cultural tensions and human experiences.
